PRADOSH VRAT KATHA शुरू करने से पहले आप सब आप को ये जान लेना चाहिए की PRADOSH VRAT KATHA भगवन शिव को प्रस्सन करने की लिए और वांछित फल पाने के लिए ही नहीं इसे हमे १०० गायों के दान के बराबर पुण्य प्राप्त होता है
स्कन्द पुराण के इस कथा के अनुशर यह व्रत कलयुग में बहुत ही मंगलकारी व्रत में से एक है। यह व्रत हर माह के त्रयोदशी तिथि के शयन काल में इसका पूजन किया जाता है।ऐसी मान्यता भी है कि भगवान श्री महादेव कैलाश पर्वत पर नृत्य करते हैं। और इस व्रत को 100 गयो के दान करने से जितना पुण्य प्राप्त होता है।
स्कन्द पुराण के कथा अनुसर बहुत समय पहले हमारे प्राचीन राज्य विदर्भ देश (महाराष्ट्र नागपुर क्षेत्र में वर्तमान स्थान) में एक ब्राह्मण परिवार हुआ करता था। किसी बीमारी के कारण हमारे परिवार के मुखिया की मृत्यु हो गई। अब हमारे परिवार का सारा बोझ उस परिवार की विधवा महिला पे आ गया।
परिवार के भरण पोषण के लिए महिला ने भिक्षा मांगना शुरू कर दिया। एक दिन की बात है जब महिला शाम को घर लौट रही थी उसके साथ राश्ते में एक सुंदर से बालक से उसकी मुलाकात होती है।वो स्त्री उस कोमल और सुंदर बालक को अपने साथ लेके अपने घर आ जाती है।
परिवार के भरण पोषण के लिए महिला ने भिक्षा मांगना शुरू कर दिया। एक दिन की बात है जब महिला शाम को घर लौट रही थी उसके राश्ते में एक सुंदर बालक मुलाकात होती है जो कभी विदर्भ देश के राजा का पुत्र था राजा के युद्ध में मृत्यु और हर के बाद बलाक दर बदर भटक रहा था लेकिन अब वो उस महिला के साथ उसके घर रहने लगा था.
परन्तु ब्राम्हण महिला बहुत गरीब थी उसने बहुत प्रयत्न किया लेकिन वो गरीबी से निकल नहीं पा रही थी. एक दिन उसने किसी से कहते सुना की इसी जंगल में बहुत ही सिद्ध महात्मा रहते है और वो सभी मुश्किलों का हल बता देते है ऐसा सुनते ही उसने निश्चय किया की वो कल प्रातः कल मुनि के आश्रम जाएगी।
दूसरे दिन सुबह उठ कर अपने दोनों पुत्रो के साथ शांडिल्य मुनि के पास जाती है और रोकर अपने सरे कष्ट बताती है तो मुनि ने उससे PRADOSH VRAT रखने के लिए कहते है और कहते है की इस व्रत से तुम्हारे सरे कष्ट दूर हो जाएंगे और भगवन शिव की कृपा प्राप्त होगी। वह घर आकर प्रदोष व्रत प्रारंभ कर दिया।
बहुत दिन बीतने के बाद एक बार दोनों बालक वन विचरण कर रहे थे और विचरण करते करते शाम होगई लेकिन और उसमे से महिला का एक पुत्र घर लौट आया लेकिन दूसरा पुत्र (राजकुमार) गन्धर्व कन्याओं को क्रीड़ा करते हुये देखा तो वो वही रूक गया और उनसे बात करने लगा। उस कन्या का नाम अंशुमती था।
अब वो रोज जंगल में मिलते और क्रीड़ा करते थे। समय का चक्र ऐसा घुमा कि ओ दो न एक दूसरे पे मोहित हो गये।
एक दिन राजा ने भी उस राजकुमार को अपनी पुत्री के साथ क्रीड़ा करते देखा और पहचान गये की वो राजकुमार धर्मगुप्त है। भगवान शिव की ऐसी कृपा से राजा के मन से दोनों का विवाह का विचार आया और राजा ने तुरंत बिना देर किये विवाह का प्रस्ताव राजकुमार के सामने रखते है और राजकुमार उसके लिए मान जाते है और कुछ समय के पश्चयात उनका विवाह बड़े धूम धाम से होता है।
विवाह के बाद राजकुमार राजा की सेना की मदत लेकर विदर्भ देश पर आक्रमण कर भयानक युद्ध के बाद राजकुमार धर्मगुप्त विजयी होते है और राजकुमारी के साथ राज करने लगते है।
राजकुमार के राजा बनने बे बाद वो अपनी मुँहबोली माता और भाई को भी राजमहल में ले कर आते है उन्हें उचित स्थान देते है। अब पूरा परिवार सुखी होकर अपना जीवन यापन करने लगेंगे और राजा अपने राज्य को गौरवशाली राज्य बनाते है।
एक दिन अंशुमती ने राजा से इस सब का कारन पूछा , तब राजा ने अंशुमती को प्रदोष व्रत के बारे में बताया और इस व्रत के फल से भी अवगत कराया।
उसके बाद से अंशुमती ने भी व्रत प्राम्भ कर दिया। जिसका भविष्य में उसे भी बहुत फल मिला। उसके बाद से ही प्रदोष व्रत की प्रतिष्ठा व महत्त्व भी बढ़ गया।

On the second day, Shandilya wakes up in the morning with her two sons and goes to sage Shandilya and tells her all her troubles, then sage asks her to keep Pradosh Vrat and says that by this fast all her troubles will go away and Lord Shiva Will receive the grace of He came home and started Pradosh Vrat.

Now they used to meet and play in the forest every day. The wheel of time turned in such a way that neither of them got attracted to each other.
One day the king also saw the prince playing with his daughter and recognized that the prince was Dharmagupta. By such grace of Lord Shiva, the idea of marriage of both of them came to the king’s mind and the king immediately proposed the marriage in front of the prince without delay the prince agreed to it and after some time they got married with great fanfare. Is.
After the marriage, with the help of the prince’s army, Prince Dharmagupta emerges victorious after a terrible war by attacking Vidarbha’s Rajay and starts ruling with the princess.
After the prince becomes the king, he also brings his mother and brother to the palace and gives them a proper place. Now the whole family will start living their life happily and the king makes his kingdom a glorious kingdom.
One day Anshumati asked the king the reason for all this, and then the king told Anshumati about Pradosh Vrat and also informed him about the result of this Vrat.
After that Anshumati also started fasting. Whose future he also got a lot of fruit. Since then, the prestige and importance of Pradosh Vrat also increased.
